IFD2415 Compact All in one Confocal System Introduction

In this video we provide an introduction to the new 'All-in-One' Confocal Measuring system from MICRO-EPSILON.

The IFD2415 system incorporates both sensor and controller in one compact housing. The overall size and footprint of the system gives users, such as machine builders and integrators the ability to mount the system directly on a machine without having to worry about routing of fibre optic cables. Don’t let its compact ‘all-in-one’ size fool you, the IFD2415 confocal system still incorporates all of the key features and functions that make confocal technology stand out in the world of displacement measurement.

The IFD2415 offers measurement resolutions from as little 8 nm and accuracies better than 0.25 µm. It has a measurement rate up to 25 kHz, depending on the surface being measured and has multi-peak analysis for up to 5 transparent thickness layers included as standard and the controller housing is sealed to IP65. The system is offered with 3 measurement ranges of either 1 mm, 3 mm or 10 mm and measurement data can be output via analogue, serial RS422, or EtherCAT, which is its default setting.
