HOW TO EXPORT

What are the best settings for exporting a video in Adobe Premiere Pro? How do I keep my video quality when uploading? If you’re watching this video, hopefully, it’s because you want to post the highest quality videos that you possibly can. Maybe you’re tired of your footage looking so beautiful and crisp UNTIL you hit Export or Upload. There are a few tricks to working around the compression algorithms of sites like YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook and Instagram, but in order to do this, we need a more in-depth understanding of what exporting is, and how to choose the best settings for exporting a video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

This is all going to start, at the end - there are a ton of variables when it comes to exporting, and different options with each file type. So let’s go through each step of this process.

The two most common video formats are H.264 which is an .mp4 file, or Quicktime which is a .MOV file.

For most streaming services like YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo and exporting video drafts, we are going with H.264.

Don't forget to select Render Maximum Depth, as well as Render with Maximum Quality.

PERFORMANCE:
HARDWARE is a very fast and powerful encoding but SOFTWARE encoding is far more consistent and produces higher quality.

When we are working with such high-quality video files now, we are best to stick with the HIGH Profile.

LEVELS
Our levels are like presets, they are set to help guide our processing - according to our desired file size and bitrate.
Notice that as you change this, it will change the size of your video.

Now that we understand how large our bitrate should be, let’s discuss the different ways that it processes.
Under out BITRATE SETTINGS, We have 3 options here:

CBR - CONSTANT BIT RATE
100BMPS (80,60)
It will be a MASSIVE file
It will be compressed by youtube

VBR 2PASS is Recommended

Target will be AVG Bits Per S
Max is for the intense scenes
For 4K Exports set
60 Target, 100 Max

Exporting AUDIO in Premiere Pro

AAC is the most universal encoding, so let’s make sure that it is selected.
Click on “info”
Most Camera Mics record in 41000 or 48000 Hz in Stereo
Make sure your audio quality is HIGH, because there is a minuscule difference in file size if any.
And then 320BIT audio will be plenty - most songs that we stream are on 128
Spotify 160, Soundcloud 64-128 so 320 will be great.

QUEUE vs EXPORT
Adobe Media Encoder is amazing for making multiple versions of our export and we can still use Adobe Premiere to edit while Media Encoder Exports, but Exporting from Premiere goes a bit faster.
