Heaton Lodge Junction near Mirfield is set to change forever, with site preparation work now taking place for a major realignment of the Junction to improve linespeed and capacity between Huddersfield and Dewsbury as part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade. A new 1km section of track will be created on a curve and a footbridge will be replaced, with a pedestrian underpass relocated slightly to the East.
