‘Lighthouse Lives’ is a film commissioned by the Northern Lighthouse Heritage Trust to capture the lived experiences of the people who worked through times of transition, from manned to automated lighthouses.

Resonant voices and visual imagery throughout the film allow us an authentic glimpse of lives lived against a backdrop of unusual circumstance, working in the service of the Northern Lighthouse Board.

The film is the culmination of a nine-year oral history project, in partnership with the School of Scottish Studies Archives.
