Well after not having access to one of my favorite beaches for beautiful blue and green slag glass I decided to walk the shoreline after seeing the water was low. Most blue and green slag glass is known as Leland Blue and Frankfort Green. To tell you the truth these could be from either place dumped as fill many years ago. Slag Glass is the bi product of smelting iron. It really don't matter to me where the slag glass came from, all I know is that it is beautiful and I love collecting it :) Many beautiful sculptures and fine jewelry are made out of slag glass. It is common to see jewelry made out of Leland Blue and Frankfort Green in shops all over Michigan. I was happy to have figured out a way to get to this beach while following the the rules/laws in Michigan. Which are to stay within the high water mark and not to go beyond that line. Due to the complications on these laws I do not wish to disclose this location. Sorry for that, maybe some day I will let you know the route I took to get to this location and that can only be done if the water is low or you will be in swamp grass along the way.
