So, branch selection is where I cut our trees back to the choices we hope to see bud out this spring. With our trees in the development stage, I allow much more stuff to branch out than we will use for the final design. We let everything go for the energy they provide the tree. Once the trees lose their leaves, the energy they made is now in the roots. Now, we can cut back any branches that are not a part of our future design.
