Delivered during the Berger Inquiry, this speech drew on lived experience and deep knowledge of the land. It became a defining moment in Indigenous resistance to resource development and played a key role in halting the pipeline proposal.

Inspired by this moment, Richard Van Camp worked with former Chief T’Seleie to create "Like a Razor Slash," a contribution to the groundbreaking graphic novel collection "This Place: 150 Years Retold" (Portage & Main Press / HighWater Press). Richard shares the legacy of the speech and reflects on the joy, resilience, and responsibility that come with storytelling and remembrance.
