Flight with an EN-B wing! Sky Kudos (B-) 2018-04-15

It was my second flight with an EN-B wing after a very sweet flight with the EN-B UP Kibo. The Sky Kudos was also provided by a local school for a test flight.

I had a really cool time under it and immediately feel at ease with it. It was my longest flight by far at the time (2H45) and awesome xc experience with difficult extraction and 2 (x2) transitions in light conditions.


A word about the launch:
Place : Vérel Pragondran (next to Chambéry)
You can see the front windsock was always good but the one behind is bad.
There was no wind at ground level. This is why I had to run downhill to inflate my glider (not graceful). I should have been higher because the launch is not that big and there's a cliff. And maybe do a front launch.
Anyhow choose an easier launch site for a test flight - especially without any inflation session beforehand - with a new glider from EN-A to EN-B.
The wing got in front - I wasn't used to that wing - but i stopped it hard. Then I ran fast to compensate but the left wing collapsed. I suppose it wasn't in tension for a small time. Hopefully the weight + wind + wind passive safety lead to immediate re-opening. I didn't really feel anything outside the noise and shadow, it was very quick. Definitely not my proudest launch. I hope some pilots learn from it.
