Walmart Fishing Reel for Big Catfish

Can a Walmart fishing reel catch a big catfish, well in this catfish fishing video I am fishing for catfish using a Zebco 888 spin casting fishing reel. This is basically a Walmart fishing reel that is affordable and easy to use. It's biggest advantage is that compared to other closed faced fishing reels it holds a lot of line and has a lot of drag. I have been trying to catch a catfish on this reel, but so far I have struck out...until this trip where I catch a good catfish to give this reel a test.
