Former treasurer Josh Frydenberg says the Australian government has “abandoned” Israel in their hour of need.

Following days of investigation into the firebombing of a Melbourne synagogue, authorities have finally declared the attack to be a "terrorist incident".

“There has been a real failure of leadership at both a federal and state level ever since October the 7th,” Mr Frydenberg told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“What we're talking about today is not Israel. What we're talking about today is what is happening here at home, and we have seen a rise in violent incidents attacking the Jewish community, which has obviously culminated in the firebombing of the Adass synagogue.”
