Delicious Beef Pepper Roast Recipe | Traditional Kerala Style Beef Pepper Roast
Enjoy this delicious Kerala-style Beef Pepper Roast made with tender boneless beef cooked in its own juices, spiced with freshly ground black pepper, fennel powder, and aromatic curry leaves. This recipe has no tomatoes or tamarind—just a touch of lemon juice for perfect balance. Coconut slices are fried in the beginning along with mustard seeds, adding a rich nutty flavor to the dish. Finished with a spoonful of ghee for that authentic Kerala touch, this roast is earthy, bold, and comforting.
Serve hot with Kerala parotta, chapati, steamed rice, or ghee rice.

Here's how to know if beef is lean or dry:
✅ 1. Visual Clues Before Cooking:
Lean beef has less visible fat — the pieces will look redder and almost dry to the eye.
Fatty/marbled beef has white streaks or patches of fat, and feels a bit soft or moist.
If the beef looks very firm and fibrous, it's likely lean or from a tough cut.
✅ 2. Experience While Cutting:
Lean beef feels harder or denser while cutting.
Fatty beef is softer to cut and releases a little moisture when you press it.
✅ 3. Cooking Experience:
If your beef sticks to the cooker or burns quickly, it likely needed some water — this means it's dry.
If it releases water quickly in the first few minutes, it's fatty or moist — no extra water needed.
