Valenki is a well-known "gypsy" dance song that gained new popularity as a "Russian folk song" after Lidia Ruslanova included it in her repertoire in the 40s of the XX century. On one of the phonograph records, the performer of gypsy songs Nastya Polyakova is listed as the author.
