In "How Much Do Teachers Get Paid in Dubai", I use my very first offer letter to overview the compensation package. When you are offered a position, actually look at the overall package and not just the "salary". The more perks you're offered, the less of your monthly pay you have to spend on those items. While there is still a great experience awaiting you and money to be made, the compensation packages aren't as sweet as they used to be.

When considering an international teaching position, here are a few questions to consider. Usually the more distinguished the international school is, the better the overall package.

1. How much is the monthly salary?
2. Is an annual flight home provided for me? My dependents?
3. Are medical benefits provided for my dependents? (Employers have to provide you with medical insurance.)
4. Are any of my relocation expenses covered?
5. Are housing accommodations provided? If so, what am I responsible for paying when it comes to housing?
6. Can my child(ren) attend my school free?
7. Is transportation provided?

As mentioned in the video, here are a few articles on the UAE gratuity. Since you will be away from home and probably not actively contributing to a retirement account, every little bit helps - don't leave this money on the table if you can help it.
