LINK to Big Boss Fryer: http://amzn.to/2hOfnsB Hi Guys, today I’m reviewing the BIG BOSS 1300-Watt Oil-Less Fryer, 16-Quart. It comes in a few different colors. The unit measures 15 inches tall and 16 inches wide. The weight is almost 15 lbs. This fryers uses halogen, convection and infrared heat to cook food. You can dehydrate fruits and vegetables with this unit, cook vegetables, meat as well as frozen food, you can also thaw frozen food before cooking.
Make sure there’s nothing touching the fryer while it’s on and there’s enough clear space around it. Put the plastic base on your countertop. Then the glass bowl, the low cooking rack, high cooking rack, the mesh basket can go on top of the low or high cooking rack. You can cook multiple foods at once. If you’re using the extender ring, put it on top - this ring is for cooking large foods like a turkey. You can cook up to a 6 lb turkey in this unit, I’ve never seen a turkey that small but maybe just the turkey breast, and then the glass lid. The lid should sit in the inner rim of the bowl so it forms a tight seal. There are tongs included with this fryer. The tongs are to lift the hot trays from the bowl.
There is a recipe book with cooking times and temperatures.
On the lid, there are time and temperature controls.
You can use any of your own oven safe pans or plates or foil with this unit.
This is supposed to be an oil-less fryer, so you don’t have to use any oil.

First we’ll cook french fries. Now the instructions say to spray oil for pretty much everything. Although on the bottom it says you don’t have to use oil. I’m not going to use oil since this is supposed to be an oil less air fryer. The mesh basket should be used when making fries, chicken, fish and onion rings. Place the lower cooking rack in unit. Put the mesh basket over the rack and put potatoes in a single layer on the mesh. These are 2 potatoes coated with ½ tsp salt and ½ tsp ppr according to the recipe book. Put the lid on with the handle up. Plug in the unit. Turn the temperature to 450 and the timer to 20 minutes. Pushing the handle down is what turns the unit on and pulling it up is what turns the unit off. Once the unit is on, the halogen lamp and fan will come on. The green and red light will be on. The halogen lamp and green light will cycle on and off to maintain temperature. Push the handle down, you heard that lock. To check the food, Pull the handle up to turn off the unit and remove the lid. Everything is hot so use oven mitts. When the timer goes off, the unit automatically shuts down. We’ll check the fries and turn them over in 10 minutes.

Let’s try breaded chicken, it looks good in the picture so I have to see if it works. I have few pieces of chicken with the bone in and skin on. These have been dipped in milk and seasoned bread crumbs. Place the lower cooking rack in unit. Mesh basket goes on top. Put the chicken pieces on top. 375 degrees 35 minutes, we’ll turn them over in 17 minutes.

The Big Boss Air Fryer did a decent job on the french fries and a great job on the chicken.

To clean, unplug the unit and let it cool down. All parts can be washed with hot soapy water - not the lid of course. Just wipe that down with a damp cloth and dried. The cooking racks and glass bowl can be washed in the dishwasher. I wouldn’t recommend doing that because the manual states, the racks should not be air dried and should be dried immediately after washing to extend it’s life. Obviously after your dishwasher finishes running, you might not remember to pull out the racks immediately. There is a self clean option for the glass bowl, put 2 inches of water with mild soap in the bowl, turn the setting to wash and timer to 10 minutes. After the bowl is cool, rinse it out.

I hope this review was helpful. Please subscribe and I’ll see you next time. Thanks for watching:)
