Nagaland Garo Tribal Council organized Wangala Mini Hornbill Tribal Festival on November 21 at Ekranipathar Village, Dimapur with MLA & President, National People’s Party Nagaland, A. Nyamnyei Konyak as the special guest. A.Nyamnyie Konyak, in acknowledging the parallels between Wangala and his own Konyak tribe's post-harvest traditions, underscored the universal theme of gratitude interwoven with agricultural abundance. It is to be noted that Wangala, aptly termed as a post-harvest festival, symbolizes the culmination of the harvest season, bringing communities together in collective gratitude for the blessings bestowed by the sun god. The Garo Tribe extends heartfelt thanks to the sun god, the life-giving force behind the bountiful harvest that sustains the Garo tribe. The festival serves as a poignant reminder of the interconnectedness between nature and the communities that depend on its generosity.
