But Jessi & Janine’s wedding…
It was the kind of love story that stays with you. The kind that reaches into your chest and squeezes your heart until the tears come without asking.
On September 27, 2025, Louis’ at the University of Saskatchewan became more than a venue. It became a sanctuary, a place where two souls, already bound by years of devotion and family, stood before the world and said yes to forever. And standing beside them were their two incredible children, Rustin & Regan, who didn’t just witness their moms getting married… they were woven into every part of this day.
Watching Jessi and Janine with their kids, the way they look at them, guide them, love them, it was impossible not to feel it:
This wasn’t just a wedding.
This was a family choosing each other all over again.
Their first look was the kind of moment you never forget. The air held its breath. Their hands trembled. And then, the instant Janine turned toward Jessi, everything broke open. Tears. Shock. Relief. Pure, overwhelming love. It was raw and real and powerful enough to stop time.
Their ceremony carried that same energy. When they poured the coloured sand into their unity vase, each layer represented more than their lives joining, it represented their journey, their sacrifices, their motherhood, their resilience, their promise that no matter what, this family is forever. After the ceremony, we moved to downtown Saskatoon by the Nutrien Tower, where the city seemed to quiet itself just for them. Their formals overflowed with laughter, gentle touches, and those small, fleeting moments that say everything without words. At the park afterward, their couple’s session began, soft, intimate, full of the kind of emotion that makes you forget the camera is even there.
Once the bridal party was dropped off at the University of Saskatchewan, we wandered with Jessi & Janine across the campus grounds for their final portraits. With the evening light settling around them, and the history of the university standing tall behind them, they held each other as if the world had paused just for them.
It was tender.
It was peaceful.
It was love, in its purest form.
And then came the reception…
If the day had already been emotional, the evening took those emotions and magnified them tenfold.
Speeches cracked voices and broke hearts open.
Their formal dances were filled with meaning so deep it was impossible not to feel it in your bones.
And then, a surprise! Janine and her siblings surprised everyone with a performance to Clogs!
This wedding wasn’t just stunning.
It wasn’t just emotional.
It wasn’t just full of joy.
It was soul-shaking.
It was breathtaking.
It was love in its most powerful, most vulnerable, most awe-inspiring form.
