Isle Of Wight Steam Railway - Red Timetable - 04/09/13

Описание к видео Isle Of Wight Steam Railway - Red Timetable - 04/09/13

As mentioned in my video of 60163 Tornado at Upton Scudamore, dad and I recently took a trip to the Isle of Wight. We stayed from Tuesday 3rd September, arriving on the 08:45 ferry from Lymington, until Friday 6th, leaving on the 17:55 ferry from Yarmouth. The first two days were spent on the island's steam railway, spending one day riding up and down the line and the other filming from the lineside. The Tuesday and Wednesday saw the line running to their 'Red' timetable, which meant a two-train service, worked by LB&SCR A1 Class 0-6-0T no.W8 'Freshwater' and Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST no.WD198 'Royal Engineer'. The Thursday and Friday saw the 'Blue' timetable in operation, which meant only a one-train service, worked by 'Royal Engineer', although we spent those two days doing other things away from the railway.

This second video is the last of two from our trip and features lineside shots of 'Freshwater' and 'Royal Engineer', taken from various places along the line.

Shots by loco include:

Royal Engineer:

- Seen passing through Ashey with a train for Smallbrook Junction, the former station building is seen in the background, now a private home.
- Later seen rolling through Ashey Halt itself, having reached the summit of the climb from Smallbrook Junction.
- Moving on to Deacons Lane just east of Ashey Halt, she catches me out as she sneaks up with a train for Smallbrook Junction.
- Later seen accelerating away from Smallbrook Junction, passing over a small level crossing on a bridleway just off of Ashey Road.
- Heading a train for Wootton, she is seen cruising past and under Rowlands Lane, just east of Havenstreet Station.
- Our final shots of Royal Engineer see her approaching Wootton Station, running round and then departing for Havenstreet.

Freshwater:

- Seen rolling past Ashey Halt and over the level crossing with a train for Wootton, I did have a shot of her before this, passing through Ashey Halt itself.....but I accidentally deleted it, oops!
- Very nearly catching me out as she passes over the level crossing just off of Ashey Road.
- Then later returning past the same location, my dad's arm is also seen as he tries to get out of the shot after taking his photos....it didn't quite work.
- Climbing up out of Havenstreet, passing under Rowlands Lane bridge.
- Our final sequence shows the arrival, run round and departure at Wootton, taking from both the level crossing just outside the station and from the station itself.

Filmed on a Panasonic HDC-HS900 with a Pro Sound L92AA microphone.

Enjoy.
