Apple hides many backend important files and folders. Here is an alert warning for you, please don’t play with the system’s hidden files as it may cause you to crash your system. For some reason, if you want to see the hidden files and folder on a Mac, then follow these steps.

1. Open Spotlight search on your Mac.
2. Type Terminal in the search bar, and from the search result, double click on the Terminal App to open it.
3. We are going to hide a personal folder on Mac. To do so, in the Terminal, type the command chflags space hidden space and drag the folder in the Terminal that we want to hide. This will show you the path of the folder.
4. Press Return key on the keyboard, and this will hide your selected folder.
5. If you want to see your hidden folder, then open the Spotlight again and type the folder name. You will find your folder in the search result, see you can access the folder here.
6. If you want to see the hidden files and folders on your Mac, then click on the File menu at the top left and click again on New Finder Window from the list.
7. In the Finder window, click on Mac’s username on the left side.
8. Go back to the Terminal and type this command in the Terminal defaults write com.apple.finderAppleShowAllFilesYES .
9. Press Return key on your keyboard.
10. Nothing happened? Don’t worry, if you are not able to see the hidden files as we have to perform one more step.
11. Press Option key on your keyboard, and then right-click on the Finder icon at the bottom.
12. Click on the Relaunch from the list.
13. Now, you can see all the hidden files and folders on your Mac.
14. To hide again all the hidden files and folders, just type the following command in the Terminal defaults write com.apple.finderAppleShowAllFilesNO
15. Press Return key on your keyboard.
16. Press Option key on your keyboard, and then right-click on the Finder icon at the bottom.
17. Click on the Relaunch from the list.
18. To unhide the personal Test Folder, type the following command in the Terminal chflagsnohidden /Users/apple/Desktop/Test\Folder, and press the Return Key on your Keyboard.
