1) How can managers lead better?
Managers get dragged into the operations - it’s time to get back to the basics to manage the people.

80% managers think they are already good enough or are already doing it: being positive, thanking employees.

However, only 12% of the employees felt that they get the right recognition. The rest felt that the recognition given was not meaningful.

2) How can leaders give meaningful recognition?
Firstly, hear from your staff what is meaningful to them, what they value. Get to know them. Thoughtfully go through their inputs and act on them.

Successful managers believe and exemplifies that they are in-charge of motivation in the workplace, instead of leaving it to HR to handle.

3) When to give recognition to employees?
Capture the moment in the moment.
Give recognition for the good job they had done immediately
Examples: when they help a co-worker, when they get a project done quickly, when they get many referrals, displaying of Core Values.

What you appreciate and recognise, you reinforce behaviours and employees will do more of that.
