speaks with purpose, and here, Allah draws attention to a profound natural phenomenon:

"Do they not see the birds controlled in the atmosphere of the sky? None holds them up except Allah. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe." (16:79)

The verse refers specifically to soaring birds like eagles, hawks, and falcons, which glide for hours with minimal wing movement, seemingly
suspended in the sky. Other birds cannot do this because they lack the size, wing shape and strength to exploit air currents and thermals as these birds do.


For centuries, humans observed this wonder but could not fully explain it. It wasn't until the 17th century, with early scientists like Galileo Galilei, and later ornithologists studying aerodynamics and wind currents, that the principles of air pressure, lift, and thermals were understood.

By highlighting these birds, Allah illustrates His perfect control over nature, using the most awe-inspiring example of effortless flight
