The Müller etudes are a great way to stay in shape, or get into shape on an instrument that you haven’t played in a while. After doing lots of work on my high clarinets the next phase of work involves a lot of bass, d’amore and basset horn, so generally lower things. The Müller etudes are tonal but deceptively challenging. So if you’re bored of Rose, Baermann and Uhl, jump on Petrucci and download the 22 Etudes by Johann Müller!
