Today we're talking about snowballs, snow construction sites and shoveling as a few meaningful play ideas you can use to engage with your child in the winter.

❄️ SNOWBALLS:
Much like throwing a regular ball, throwing snowballs and having competitions to see who can throw the furthest or highest is a great way to work on coordination and muscle development, while also having some engaging and friendly competition with your little ones. The added element of learning how to make a ‘good’ snowball is also a fun way to incorporate sensory and exploratory play.

Snow constructions sites allow your child the opportunity to build using natural materials with no need to go to a beach for sand! By allowing them to use their toys year-round, they gain knowledge of different seasons and materials, which increases their understanding of the world around them.

❄️ SHOVELING:
Shoveling snow is a great way to engage in physical exercise while also teaching your child important lessons about helping others. Whether sharing a larger shovel with a caregiver or having a smaller shovel of their own, this activity will help build coordination and gross motor skills.
