The Israeli Ministry of Interior is the governmental office that is authorized to issue special visas and legal status in Israel for foreign residents.

In this video attorney Joshua Pex brings a case which our firm handled several years ago of a client who was denied a request for legal status in Israel for humanitarian reasons.

A nursing worker from the Philippines, married an Israeli and had a child, after the wedding they applied for legal status for her in the Ministry of the Interior. They began the gradual process, but the couple divorced before completing the process.

The case was transferred to an interdepartmental committee and the answer was received only after seven years (refusal), for the last seven years she has received an extension to her work visa.

Our office filed an internal appeal, but unfortunately we received a refusal. In the meantime, the child who has lived in Israel all his life, and is close to conscription age, after a year of service in the army, will be able to apply for permanent status for his mother in Israel.
