On this episode of BSTV, Ya Boi Shad & G. Downs sat down with one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed TV actors, Omar Gooding. Omar gave them one of the best interviews in the short history of BSTV. He shared his experiences growing up poor and homeless with his parents, who were in the band and the lead singer of Maine, Grady Gooding Sr. He also talked about being an unexpected child and the challenges of growing up as the brother of Hollywood star Cuba Gooding Jr.

Omar also spoke about his first role in the movie Ghost Dad with legendary comedian Bill Cosby and the joy of working with him. He recounted how his brother Cuba Gooding Jr. was kicked off the set of Ghost by Academy Award-winning actor Sydney Portier for giving him pointers during filming.

Omar then discussed how he landed the role in Wild and Crazy Kids on Nickelodeon and how he differentiated himself from other aspiring actors vying for the part. He shared his experiences as a child TV star and how he adapted to the expectations of Hollywood.

He then delved into his non-existent relationship with Tyrese during the filming of the movie, revealing that they almost came to blows at his house due to their differing preferences for socializing. He also discussed a fight he had with Tyrese and Ving Rhames during filming.

Afterward, he spoke about his on-screen girlfriend, Angell Conwell, whom he started dating in real life. He shared how Snoop Dogg offered him words of encouragement and how they developed a strong friendship.
