Understanding Modernist Literature: Context & Concepts

Описание к видео Understanding Modernist Literature: Context & Concepts

In this video, I provide a comprehensive, yet detailed, overview of Modernist English Literature, which largely emerged in the early 20th century and lasted until the Second World War. It was a period of avant-garde experimentation, unorthodox, daring stylistic innovation, and a conscious breaking away from literary conventions.

'Modernism' gave us some of the most fascinating figures in English Literature, including James Joyce (author of the epic novel 'Ulysses' and the virtually unreadable 'Finnegan's Wake'), T. S. Eliot (poet of 'The Waste Land'), Virginia Woolf (author of stream-of-consciousness novellas like 'Mrs Dalloway' and 'To the Lighthouse') - and many, many more.

If you're studying literature at a higher level and want an understanding of some sophisticated literary concepts, then this is going to be a super valuable video for you.
