European Day of Parks 2014:

"Parks for Nature. Parks for well-being. Parks for peace"

The EUROPARC May Council meeting in Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, France, was a perfect occasion to talk about the European Day of Parks and the connection we are making this year to the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War.

EUROPARC Director, Ms. Carol Ritchie for this year's European Days of Parks reminds us on those special connections between people and places. In Montagne de Reims Regional Natural Park, France where this video was taken, years ago there were wars and now it is a place for people to come and enjoy. Our Parks are for peace, well-being and for nature.

Enjoy the European Day of Parks!

The European Day of Parks takes place on and around 24th of May each year. It aims at bringing people closer to nature and raising public awareness on the importance of the natural beauty preserved in protected areas and the importance of conservation and sustainable management of those places.
