Ferrari F40 vs Ferrari F50 THRASHED Like You've Never Seen Before

Here goes. The Drive puts two of the greatest Ferraris ever made on track to be thrashed as intended by Chris Harris. You’re never going to see something like this again.

Made from 1987 to 1992, the Ferrari F40 was both a celebration of the company’s 40th anniversary and the final model approved by Enzo Ferrari himself before his death. With a 471-hp twin-turbo V8 rooted in Ferrari’s Group B rally effort in the early 1980s, it is quite simply one of the most recognizable supercars of all time.

So how do you top that? Try the Ferrari F50, which debuted in 1995 with a howling naturally-aspirated 4.7L V12 engine originally developed for IMSA GT racing and a six-speed gated manual transmission. It also marks the first time Ferrari used an all-carbon chassis, now the standard for supercar construction.

Both cars are worth millions of dollars today, which is why you rarely see them driven this hard, and why you never see a true head-to-head comparison review. But we’re different, and so is Harris. Enjoy the spectacle, everyone.
