Bapchule, AZ makes history! During World War II, six U.S. Marines raised the American flag on Mount Suribaci on the island of Iwo Jima signifying the end of Japanese control. One of those men was born and raised in Sacaton and later lived, the remainder of his life, in Bapchule. I'll identify this Native American hero during this episode! Also, we'll pay a brief visit to St. Peter Indian Mission and cemetery, drive through the financially challenged neighborhoods of Bapchule, and visit the District 5 community park. We'll top it off with "The Commandants Own", United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps performance of the Marine Hymn.
