A Barber's Life

A couple of weeks back, the UK city of Brighton saw the opening of the AONO Barbershop, a haven for all the fans of traditional gents haircuts. Supported by male grooming experts, UPPERCUT DELUXE, the shop saw queues forming down the street and appearances from some big names in UK barbering.

'A Barber's life' follows the build up to this time, focusing on the stories of owner, Paul Hewitt and the rest of his crew.

Directed by Jonathan Nicol, and with camera work from photographer Joe Pearson, and DOP Richard Osborne, the film is a striking visual mixture of inspiring interviews and personal stories; along with visual examples of just how skilled the men in this trade are.
Forget everything you thought you knew about barbering. The #AONOFAMILY are dominating UK hairdressing with skateboards, streetwear (of which AONO has it's own brand) and tattoos. The documentary itself is filmed with a similar sense of 'coolness', with smooth camera shots and an exciting aesthetic. #BARBERLIFE
