NARRA PALAWAN's Brief History

he Rice and Corn Productivity Administration came to Palawan in the year 1947 through the request of the late Alfredo Abueg, Sr. This agency of the National Government identified the plains between the Tigman River in Plaridel, Aborlan and Parian River in Bato-Bato (now San Isidro, Narra) to be the project site of the program. Due to the potential of these plains, it was converted into Central Palawan Settlement Project by Proclamation No. 190 signed by President Elpidio Quirino.

The National Administration took over the management of the Central Palawan Settlement Project to accelerate rice and corn production. A sitio of barangay Panacan, Aborlan was selected to be the administrative site of the above office. The sitio was named NARRA (National Resettlement and Rehabilitation Administration).
