Gul Makai:

'Gul Makai' is a story of courage that overcame fear and oppression. 'Gul Makai' accounts the courageous journey and struggle of Nobel laureate Malala Yousufzai, from her humble upbringing in the Swat Valley to her becoming the champion for free education to all.

The film is directed by Amjad Khan and featuring National award winning actors Divya Dutta, Late Om Puri, Atul Kulkarni and Reem Shaikh. Research, screenplay and dialogues by Bhaswati Chakrabarty.

When Delhi based business tycoon Sanjay Singla decided to step in Indian Film industry by establishing Tekno Films, he backed Director Amjad Khan to make the biopic on Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai, named ‘Gul Makai'. It’s very unusual for a new producer to invest in a non-commercial film. But he is off course out of box person. He wants to bring about change in the society through films, just like director Amjad Khan. And here they both made a great duet. Definitely Tekno Films will make commercial films in future also but for now producer Sanjay Singla wants to sign in a different example for producers.
