70 YEAR OLD STREAMLINER EMDS ON THE MAINLINE - RARE South Australia Rail Sightings

Описание к видео 70 YEAR OLD STREAMLINER EMDS ON THE MAINLINE - RARE South Australia Rail Sightings

Rare train movements in South Australia: Two 1952 Streamliner EMDs lead the way, followed by an Aurizon-loaded grain train hauled by vintage diesels and a RailFirst CM. Pacific National action includes one of the last runs of the iconic EMD G class, an AN class engine powering through with an intermodal freight. A rare sighting of the 6020 on a Mid-North grain train finishes off the video.

A few weeks before G537's catching, the engine was captured on what is likely one of its final runs, with twin NRs leading the G on Pacific National Intermodal 2MP5 bound for Perth from Melbourne.

Next up are two of the oldest diesels still operating on the mainline in Australia. B61 and GM10 entered service in 1952, a matter of months apart. GM10 entered service with the Commonwealth Railways, and B61 with the Victorian Railways. The train is seen twice, first crossing the Murray River at Murray Bridge and then on the steep grade out of Ambleside through Yantaringa, with the GM working solo due to the failure of B61.

Four different engines from three different eras work a loaded Aurizon Grain Train over the peak of the Adelaide Hills line at Murray Bridge with CM3305 on hire from RailFirst leading retro engines ALF19/G533 & CLP8 bound for Pelican Point for discharge.

Not long after 3 ANs returned to service, we captured AN3 working hard through the Adelaide Hills on a Pacific National Superfreighter bound for Perth with NRs 70 & 35. The Service from Melbourne is captured at Yantaringa on the steep climb towards Bridgewater.

A rare 6020 sighting on the lead of a South Australian Grain Train is captured at Two Wells. 6025 which leads CLP16 & ALF20 is on the lead to aid crew comfort while on transfer from the north to the Motive Power Centre for maintenance with the rest of the train bound for Pelican Point.
