Time constant(τ=RC)
It is the property of RC circuit.
It is the time required in seconds to charge a capacitor to 63.2% of the applied voltage.
Large time constant means the capacitor charges slowly.

Limitations of RC integrator
It has large time constant, τ=RC.
Gain is less than unity
The output is not linear function of input.
Due to these limitations we use Opamp integrator circuit

Applications of RC circuit
As basic charging and discharging circuit in higher order filter circuits.
Used in noise removers, delay lines, signal coupling and bias decoupling in amplifiers, timers, sinusoidal and relaxation oscillators.
