When paying bills or writing checks have you ever selected “other” because you didn’t know if it was a Vendor or a Customer?

Do you understand the process of changing the name type from “other names list” to Vendors?

Let me show you how to move them from the “other names list.” 😊


➡️ Name Types

Inside “Write Checks”
When adding in “Pay to Order of”
If “Name not found” screen pops up
Click “Quick Add”
“Select Name Type” screen will show
Vendor – somewhere you spend money
Customer – Someone who is paying you
Employee – Someone you pay W2/Wages
Other – Used in other ways, not paying somebody


➡️ Changing from “Other” to “Vendor”

➡️ Remember: Once you change it, you can never move it back.

“Lists”
“Other Names List”
You’ll see your other names list
Select the one you want to edit, then right click
Edit Other Name
Choose “Change Type”
Select “Vendor”
Click “OK”
“Change Type” screen will show
Click “OK”
