Grapevine Furniture was a used furniture store located at 829 Portage St. in the city of Kalamazoo, Michigan, three blocks south of downtown. It was founded by Richard Jett in 1988. Following his death on May 22, 2013, his son and co-owner Scott Jett closed the business permanently on Saturday, September 14, 2013.

Grapevine Furniture was well known in the community, thanks to a series of popular broadcast radio and television commercials created by the staff of the Crystal Radio Group (WKMI / WKFR / WRKR), which became part of Cumulus Media in about 1996 and was sold to current owner Townsquare Media in about September 2013. Regarding the success of the ads, Townsquare Media Senior Sales Executive Mark Fricke states: "When we started the ads they had this one building and three employees. Three years later they covered two city blocks and had 17 employees." About a month after Grapevine Furniture went out of business, Kalamazoo Gazette readers voted Grapevine's slogan, "Beautiful day, great to be alive," Kalamazoo's second-most recognizable slogan: http://www.mlive.com/business/west-mi...

Grapevine Furniture was also known for the grapevine murals painted on the outsides of their buildings ( http://www.kpl.gov/local-history/phot... ), which at one point occupied a full city block from E. Vine St. to Jackson St.

The radio ad in this post mocks Michigan-based new furniture competitor Art Van, whose local store is located next to The Crossroads mall in Portage. It also is a parody of the late Steve Irwin's character "The Crocodile Hunter." Grapevine Furniture co-owner Scott Jett voiced the intros and outros, while WKFR D.J. Nick Taylor voiced The Furniture Hunter.
