Jacaerys lands at the Twins to bargain passage. He presses the urgency: Jason Lannister is marshalling to the west; they must move before he reaches Riverrun—and that means crossing here. The Freys weigh the weather and the war: what if the Stark host is too slow? The wind’s rising; winter is nigh. (The Crossing is leverage as much as stone.) 

Cut north. Cregan Stark gives the answer Winterfell is famous for: “Starks do not forget their oaths, my prince.” He pledges thousands of Greybeards—men who’ve “already seen too many winters,” but are honed and hard—promising they will fight like Northerners. Jace nods: If your Greybeards can fight, the Queen will have them. 

Final beat: the edit returns to the river road—the Greybeards marching south, banners whipping in cold wind, filing across the same bridge Jace just secured. Passage paid; the North moves for the Blacks.
