I go into the wilderness year round. Over the years I have come to have checklists for the summer and winter. Spring and Fall do not count because of the seasonal carryover requiring intuitive judgment. A winter pack is always heavier than and summer pack. This is my video showing you my winter wilderness day trip backpack gear list. This assortment of gear has come to give me a sense of respectful security allowing me to more fully enjoy all that the day has to offer me along my path.
This is by no means definitive but rather a example of one person's gear. My goal is to give all people the confidence to wander off trail in the wilderness.
