On May 17th, 1957, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his speech Give Us The Ballot. Delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the speech touches upon the frustrations #CivilRights leaders and African-Americans were feeling from the federal government's inaction three years after the Brown V. Board of Education passed in the Supreme Court.

The #FightToVote has been going on for years, but the words shared that day in May echo heavily in the #USA today when more than 40 states have legalized their own form of #VoterSuppression tactics. The #disenfranchisement it has caused is evident, and we must continue to fight for what's right.
