Описание к видео First Day In Tawang | Arunachal Pradesh | Northeast 🇮🇳

In this vlog! I travelled from Guwahati to Tawang which is the number one tourist destination of Arunachal Pradesh. It took almost 21 hours for the bus to reach tawang. After reaching there i was tired so I slept for sometime. Tawang is a town and administrative headquarter of Tawang District in the Indian State of Arunachal Pradesh. Its Geographical coordinates are 27° 35′ 18″ North, 91° 51′ 55″ East. Tawang is situated 448 km north-west of state capital Itanagar at an elevation of approximately 3,048 metres (10,000 ft). It lies to the north of the Tawang Chu river valley, roughly 10 miles (16 km) south of the Line of Actual Control with China. It is the site of a famous Gelugpa Buddhist Monastery. The Tawang district occupies an area of 2,172 square kilometres. It was carved out of the West Kameng District, which adjoins it to the east. Bhutan borders Tawang to the west and south and Tibet lies to the north of the district. The District has a population of 49,977 (as per 2011 Census) and almost 75% of which are considered “tribal”, i.e. belonging to the native Monpa and others. The sensitivity of the border area brings Tawang under heavy military presence. In winter, Tawang frequently experiences heavy snowfall.

The Tawang Monastery was founded by the Merak Lama Lodre Gyatso in 1681 in accordance with the wishes of the 5th Dalai Lama, Ngawang Lobsang Gyatso, and has a legend surrounding its name. Ta means “horse” and wang means “chosen”. So, the word Tawang means “chosen by horse”. As per a legend, the Monastery is believed to have been chosen by a Horse Owned by Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso. The sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyng Gyatso, was born in Tawang. I hope you will like this video.
