Construction Beginnings: The hotel's construction started in 2008, with the project being developed over a decade.

Partial Opening: By November 2019, the hotel had partially opened with 608 rooms, offering limited services, including complimentary wireless internet access, restaurant dining guides, and in-room massages.

Current Status: As of 2022, 880 more rooms were under construction, with plans to complete the hotel by 2025. The hotel will feature conference rooms with a capacity of 2,200 people and 45 meeting rooms for smaller groups.

Amenities and Features*: Once complete, Rock City Hotel will boast:
2,700 rooms, making it Africa's largest hotel and the world's fifth largest resort
Aquarium
Water park
Zoo
18-hole and 9-hole golf courses

Design and Ownership: The hotel was designed by Black women architects, with J.D. Adjei and Enoch A. K. Amankwah being the primary designers. It's owned by Honourable Bryan Acheampong, Ghana's
Minister of State in charge of National Security.
