Описание к видео Let's read the judgment against Varg Vikernes (Burzum) | Black Metal History |

DISCLAIMER

In this video I present the judgment against Varg Vikernes (Burzum) as well as some of my initial thoughts on the judgment. Varg Vikernes was convicted of murdering the guitarist of the black metal band Mayhem and for burning down several churches in Norway. This is not an in depth legal analysis of the case. Neither should it be interpreted as an endorsement of any of the parties involved.

This video features my personal views and is not to be in any way interpreted as a statement made in my professional role. It is meant for entertainment only.

There are three names I initially intended to censor and therefore did not read out aloud, partly due to european defamation regulations; a third person convicted in another case as well as two expert witnesses. However, as I realised that the first mentioned person was Faust from Empreror and that it is well known already that he was convicted for murder and arson I realised that it was not necessary to censor the name. Regarding the medical experts, they made their statements in their professional roles and their names are therefore not sensitive information in this context.

Finally, the names of professional subjects, such as the prosecutor, attorney and members of the court are for obvious reasons not sensitive information and therefore not censored.

If you have thoughts or comments about the judgment you are welcome to discuss them in the comments section.

Correction: Vikernes had been detained for 285 days prior to the judgment.
