Words lose their essence in an effort to describe Bali, for the island, undisputedly is the Heaven on Earth! Call it a journey of a lost soul or a soulful experience; but Bali is pure, pristine, spiritual and away from the humdrum of the commercial chaos. It's a spiritual awakening. So, why settle for cheap Bali Packages when you can plan a Bali tour itinerary yourself?
Bali is in total contrast with itself ... if there's Ubud, the cultural center of Bali and home to many artists and writers, then for people longing to spend some time in the city there's Kuta - the best tourist resort area which has a great surfing beach. If Ubud offers you a chance to indulge in street shopping and experience their rich culture and warm hospitality; at Kuta, you can splurge in a shopping mall, have a splashing day at the water park and experience the developing side of Bali. But despite the mayhem of the busy city life, Kuta is the place you ought to visit in Bali. And, for couples in # honeymoon state of mind, minimum two nights stay at pristine Nusa Dua is well worth it!
Things To Do in Bali
#Ubud: Visit Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Gunung Kawi, an 11th century carved stone temple, Tirta Empul Temple, Goa Gajah/Elephant Cave (this has amazing rock carvings that date back to 11th century), Puri Saren Palace (the original home of Ubud princes, but now a popular venue of traditional Balinese dance), Mount Bhatur, Black Sand Beach and Kopi Luwak Coffee Farm.
Please Note: At most Balinese temples, both men and women will have to borrow a sarong and women will have to tie their hair. It’s part of their culture. So, go accordingly dressed.
#Kuta: Here you may visit Kuta Beach, Discovery Shopping Mall/Waterbom Bali, Bali Shell Museum, etc. Besides, you can indulge in a Barong show or can visit a Buddhist temple in the heart of Kuta. Also, the beachside city of Kuta has some lively bars, perhaps you can enjoy some live music at night.
Bali Flights and Accommodation
When it comes to tourism, Bali is very well connected with rest of the world.
Distance From the Airport: Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar to Ubud: 38km and airport to Kuta: 5.5km.
Best Resorts in Bali: We recommend a stay at Pertiwi Resort and Spa, Ubud. This stylish resort, surrounded by lush gardens, lies an 11-minute walk from the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, a 14-minute walk from Ubud Palace and 6 km from the ancient stone carvings of Goa Gajah.
Must Do: You may avoid hiring a Bali tour guide in Ubud or Kuta unless you find difficulty in communication. People are warm, hospitable and helpful. Indulge in site seeing, surfing, river water rafting, lots of food, massages and of course shopping!
Move Out: You may hire a local taxi, or rent a bike or a bicycle to look around in Ubud.
