Aruna & Hari Sharma Flying Finn Air from Delhi to Helsinki & Stockholm Nov 30, 2012

Aruna & Hari Sharma from Uppsala University, Sweden after a successful trip to India in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mussoorie, Dehradun, are returning home by Finn Air Flight AY 22 to Helsinki and then to Stockholm. In this flight they are seen at Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 and then flying to Helsinki. When they landed Helsinki Vantaa Airport, heavy snow was there on the same day that lowered the temperature to -8 °C in Helsinki and -6° C in Stockholm. Under such conditions in Scandinavia, ice deposited on airplane wings and other movable parts on the ´surface of the airplane are cleared by spray of special liquid to deice the airplane. However this effect could last for 1 h. In our case when they sat in small plane in Helsinki to Stockholm they have to wait inside of the airplane for 2 h. As a result after 1 h of deicing, the airplane required to be deiced again near to the runway. In this video deicing of the airplanes at Helsinki Vantaa airport is clearly seen.
