After many suggestions for this rewrite (and deliberating whether I could actually reinvent the original song), I finally tackled it. In place of "Waiting On A Miracle," Mirabel sings about what it's like in her position in the family, always "waiting in the wings" while the rest of the family shines, center stage.

The original lyrics are TIGHT and it was initially difficult to find a foothold when I began the writing process, but once I pinpointed the main difference between Cass's and Mirabel's struggles, it came together. (Mirabel doesn't begrudge her family the town's praise and admiration, she simply wants to stand with them!)

I hope you enjoy my rewrite of this fan-favorite TTS song!
