Yngwie plays The Duck (Play Loud!) live Mesa Theater 12/6/21

So Yngwie broke out The Duck (Play Loud!) Monday night at our show. He introduced it as being made during Bach's lifetime as a joke, and it took me a bit to realize that's what he was playing. The stickers (Duck and Play Loud!) are really faded now- he mentioned this is indeed the guitar he brought with him to the US in 1982. It doesn't look like the stickers are on it in the video very much because of the quality (iPhone 7) but you could see them in person and the Duck can be seen better when he's singing- you can see the faded outline of the sticker (or what was the sticker) on the end of the headstock. You can see where the Play Loud! tape was too- can't tell if it's still there and faded or if it's just the sticker mark left over. This could be one of the John Cruz tributes- but Yngwie acted like it was the original. Pretty cool that he's bringing it back out on the road- it's been years and I didn't think he would ever play it live again- it does indeed sound different then the rest of the show- it had a bright and clean tone compared to the other guitars- more vintage sounding- more Hendrix-sh- but that could have been for a lot of reasons- but it was my favorite sound of the night. Excellent set all around except he was complaining about the vocal monitors for half the night- finally got it resolved about half way through the show.
