Recorded 8/25/2024 at 12:48 pm. These well cars were pulled from storage on the west wide of the W-Line (A&S) by local P44. P44 would go up near Landrum where they were stored and bring them back to Hayne Yard. Many of the locals near the W-Line through Inman and Landrum received word of this move and swarmed to the tracks. It's a good thing they did, because a storage train shoving back or pulling through those towns like that may never happen again. NS still has 'somewhat' solid track between Spartanburg and Landrum on the W-Line, so that portion is safe from becoming a trail. They've even installed new crossing mechanisms for some roads, so as long as they have their certain few customers in that stretch, I think the Spartanburg - Landrum stretch of the W-Line will remain intact. With the container traffic at the Greer and Charlotte Intermodal Terminals increasing over the years, NS will always be trying to supply the buckets. So, I think them storing bare tables over on the west side of the W-Line again isn't too far-fetched.

After P44 brought the well cars into Hayne, the train was re-symboled to 202 for the trip up to Charlotte on the mainline the next day. I just so happened to be at the right place at the right time! I was already out and about after work trying to snag the new 284. I love it when I get an unexpected extra train in the mix. More trains? Yes please! Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the video.
