250,000 Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian people passed through and or lived on this small island off the coast of Malaysia. Upwards of 40,000 - 60,000 people at one time - making this place the most populated place on earth at one time. Today, my friends and I visited. You should visit yourself before the government turns this place into a resort and the refugee experience will be lost forever! Make your way to Terengganu via Kuala Lumpur and hire a boat via your hotel. Hope for good weather! During the stormy winter months boats might not go out and you should leave early because if the tide is low your boats can't return to land. Special thanks to everyone who made this video possible. Thank you to the refugees who laid foundation for me and the other second generation Vietnamese to have an identity.
