Disassemble Barlow 16 Winch

How I disassembled my Masport Barlow 16 winch. I probably hasn't been serviced in past 40 or years of service.

There seems to two types of Barlow winch
one with a lever down the winch handle hole that is pressed to release the drum The other with a screw or Allen key undone to release the drum. Mine was a screw.

A tool came with winch that held the inner drum still while the screw was undone. The tool was long since gone and the screw slightly corroded in place hence using the impact driver and WD40

The winch drum reluctantly came off. Careful not to damage the screw or soft brass screw thread in the base.
