Today, we take a look at what was really the final general issue military bolt action rifle pattern. The 2A and 2A1 rifle series was developed by the Ishapore factory in India, specifically to fire the then new 7.62mm NATO (7.62x51) cartridge. While they were heavily based on the classic Enfield No. 1 MK III pattern, the 2A/2A1 did have some unique features all their own.
