Drexal is an alien living far away in the galaxy, but he has worries and fears like we do here on earth. He worries that something bad could happen to him or his computer sidekick while they are separated. Watch as Drexal's computer sidekick helps him face his separation anxiety.

You are not alone in your struggle. Remember that it’s normal to feel close to those we love, and we certainly miss them while they're away. Worrying about loved ones shows you care, but too much worry can be unhealthy. As Drexal's computer sidekick tells him, it's okay to take time apart, and we can't let our worries make choices for us. Being alone allows us time to focus on ourselves and our interests. Time apart is healthy, and our loved ones will be there for us when we reunite, just like Drexal and his computer.

Share our video series with other people you know and see if any of them relate to Drexal. It’s a fun way to share, and it’s healthy to talk about how you feel.

► Do you worry about being separated from the people you love?
► Do you fear for your safety when separated from your family?
► Can you think of anyone else who may feel the same way you do?
► Who is someone you trust that you could talk about your feelings?

Galaxy Brain is an animated series for pre-teens and teens on topics like social anxiety, health anxiety, contamination OCD, and more. With humour and heart, Galaxy Brain normalizes anxiety in an entertaining way and encourages youth to seek help from a trusted parent, teacher or friend.

Anxiety Canada created Galaxy Brain to help parents, educators, or healthcare providers start a dialogue with youth and help them understand that they aren’t alone.

Many youths don’t realize that what they are feeling is anxiety. You can help them name their fears and feelings, recognize symptoms, and understand the impact anxious thoughts have on their lives.

Keep the conversation going! Let kids know that it’s okay to talk about their feelings and give them a safe space to express themselves. Open up and discuss your own anxieties so they know they're not alone.
